Fighting Fantasy: Warlock of Firetop Mountain Gets Release Date

As promised last week I can now tell you the release date for Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone’s Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Laughing Jackal’s PlayStation Minis conversion of the first in the legendary Fighting Fantasy series of gamebooks.

We will be releasing Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain on the 26th October 2011 in Europe and the 1st of November 2011 in North America, available for the, well, fantastic :) price of £3.49, €3.99 or $4.99.

In order to whet your appetite, here’s a brand new Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain trailer we’ve created:

Due to the feedback we’ve been receiving from fans of the series, we’ve made several changes to the game since Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death including:

The Log Book now remembers which book you were in (Character, Item or Page)

The user can now return to the top of the page by pressing the up button when the first option is highlighted

A ‘Good’ generic alignment portrait has been added to Character Bios

A new mini game has been added to the end of the quest

But we can’t reveal any more on that last point for fear of spoilers

Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain also features our own tile-based combat system as an alternative to the classic dice-based system, so whether you want a new take on the classic game, or wish to stay as close to the original experience as you can get without holding a D6, Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is the Mini for you!

Yay!!! Next week! =) Seriously... I never expected to be this anxious for a PSN mini... I think these games are special then =p made me read some of the books again. Please, do Deathtrap Dungeon as the next game, that book is soooo well done! and when we end the book we could unlock the sequel =p Trial of Champions ^_^ ok... I'm pushing a lot... but anyway... Deathtrap would be an awesome choice! It was my 1st book of these series too =) Sorry for the wall of text, but, I just remembered something, you guys could somehow translate the name of the book collection in the description of the game PSN store page, example - here (in Portugal) we didn't call iy Fighting Fantasy, we call it "Aventuras Fantásticas", if you could write that in the description for each country, people would recognize the game from the books, because, as it is, some friends of mine didn't knew this game was about the books we read when we were young. Just a sugestion anyway.

Well, that was fast! November 1st is great since by then I'll be completely free from other reviews and will be able to give 100% of my gaming time to this one! @Ross: Should I have Oly email you guys next week or will you just send it directly to me? Thanks!
[LJ] Ross says:

@EdEN I should be able to remember but if I don't send you one soon after the 1st November send me an email to remind me.
EdEN says:

@Ross: Great! Once I get my US code for Fighting Fantasy I'll be playing it non-stop till the end. November 1st is just around the corner!
George says:

You guys rock. As I've mentioned on FB...we also need the masterful Deathtrap Dungeon and House of Hell! :) Will interior artwork be included in the future?
George says:

Oops nevermind. Found the art in the logbook...
[LJ] Ross says:

@George I'll pass on your suggestions for when we decide what to do next aside from Orbit and a mystery Giraffe based game :)
