OMG-Zombies and Cubixx are out now on PSM

Hi everyone.  As you may have noticed we now have two new games joining Hungry Giraffe on the PlayStation®Mobile Store.  We have ported the awesome OMG-Zombies and our first ever PlayStation minis title, Cubixx, to PSM.  Both games are available for just $2.99 / £2.39 / ¥300.

When released on PlayStation minis, Eurogamer called OMG-Z...a monstrously addictive quick-fire affair that utterly nails what on-the-go handheld gaming should be about.” in their 9/10 review.  This gore-soaked chain reaction zombie shooter is still in the top 10 PSP games of all time according to Metacritic and - with higher resolution artwork - now looks even better than ever.  The higher resolution artwork also makes it easier to line up that perfect shot.

“Alert! Alert! OMG-Zombies! The City of Redfield has been hit by an outbreak of exploding zombies! For cool and unimportant reasons these suckers literally explode when shot, showering their zombie brethren with gore and causing chain reactions of showering zombie gibs with just a single bullet!

Armed with this knowledge (and bullets coated in a zombie-exploding pathogen) your elite unit is dispatched to the epicentre of the outbreak. Your mission? Succeed where the police and army failed and clean up the city!

For reasons that aren't important right now, all but one of your team is killed before arriving at the outbreak's epicentre, leaving YOU to deal with thousands of zombies ALONE.

Use your chain reaction skills to explore 81 waves of zombie hell across 32 environments. Earn 324 shiny medals and cold hard cash, and use it to buy 70 different upgrades all designed to MAKE ZOMBIES EXPLODE!

Cubixx was our first self-published title and also spawned a sequel in the form of our first ever full PS3 game, the amazing Cubixx HD.  Upon release, this thrilling action puzzler was awarded 9/10 by The Sixth Axis, who called it: “massively addictive.”

“Use your laser to cut away the surfaces of a mysterious cube and free the energy within. Cutting longer lines and crossing multiple cube surfaces gives you bigger combos, but at far greater risk.

Can you brave this hazardous environment and complete all 20 levels? Old-school, highscore-chasing gameplay with a modern twist.

Do you have what it takes to top the high score table and become number one?”

That’s all for now. I’ll be back next week, but until then why not on join us on our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+  pages?

Themes

Hi everyone. It’s been just over a week since the release of our ever ravenous Hungry Giraffe on PSM and we’ve been very happy with the reaction to it so far.  It’s been great hearing from all of our fans who have really been enjoying the game :) and if any journalists are reading this please feel free to contact us for some review code.

We’ve also been doing some interviews talking about the game and last Friday Al and I spoke to Nick from PSNStores.com about Hungry Giraffe, the origins of Laughing Jackal and our future plans.  The resulting interview can be found here.

One thing we didn’t mention during the interview is that over the last few weeks, some of our team have been cooking up some seriously hot dynamic themes for the PSN store.  These aren’t the first themes we’ve ever done (some of you might remember our rather stylish Cubixx HD theme; if not please feel free to check it out on the PSN Store ^_^).  From what I’ve seen so far of the new themes, I can safely say that our artists have produced some real works of art and include a ‘must have’ and rather creepy Halloween theme.  Look out for more info and details on release dates in the next couple of weeks.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back next week, but until then why not on join us on our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+  pages?

Hungry Giraffe is out now on PSM

Hi everyone.  The first set of PlayStation®Mobile games have gone live in Japan, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia, with more countries to come soon and - best of all - the awesome Hungry Giraffe is one of the games available right now!

Hungry Giraffe is available for just $2.99 / £2.39 / ¥300.  Yes, that is a Yen price you can see there, which means that not only is Hungry Giraffe our first ever title available for mobile phones, it is also our first ever Japanese release. :)

For those who need a reminder or who are encountering Hungry Giraffe for the first time, here’s the game summary you’ll see when viewing the game on PSN or the Android PlayStation Store:

It sucks when you're hungry. Sometimes you just want to bury your face into a burger, or tear into a taco. Out on the African savannah, a Hungry Giraffe feels your pain.

A 20 foot tall, 1200kg animal like the giraffe needs to chow down on tons of food each day, just to stay alive. But, oh no! All the tastiest leaves have been eaten, while up in the sky endless quantities of snacks, fruit and junk food hover just out of reach!

Hungry Giraffe features the world's largest and hungriest even-toed ungulate. Through skilful steering of his neck, you can propel your half-starved giraffe on his twisty-turny upward journey, chomping on strawberries, fries, sandwiches and naughtier treats.

But beware! The skies are also strewn with hazards. Poison, Anvils and non-prescription Drugs also hover up there, ready to send unwary giraffes plummeting to earth.

Hungry Giraffe is by FAR the greatest giraffe-feeding game of all time! Dare you miss out?

The PSM version of Hungry Giraffe also features freshly improved higher resolution graphics meaning it now looks even better.

PlayStation Mobile games are available both through the PlayStation®Mobile tab on PlayStation Store for PS Vita and through your PlayStation Certified devices.  In fact the guys over at Sony have provided a helpful guide for users of PlayStation Certified devices which can be found here (the “PlayStation Mobile for Android” app itself can be found here)

We’ve got more games coming to PSM soon, but for now why don’t you head over to PS Store on PS Vita or PS Certified devices and check out Hungry Giraffe on PlayStation®Mobile.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back next week, but until then why not on join us on our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+  pages?
