The Laughing Jackal Vita sale

Hi everyone.  Well, we’re into week 3 of Sony’s marvellous PS Vita sale over on the European PSN Store where a stash of excellent PSP games have had their prices slashed - but only until the 4th July!  As you may have guessed from the title of this blog, I’m pleased to say that some carefully selected gems from the Laughing Jackal catalogue are amongst them.

Fans of space shooters are in for a treat as our Ace Armstrong / Stellar Attack PS mini bundle has had its price blasted down from £3.99 (€ 4.99) to an incredible £1.74 (€ 1.99)!  And for all you old-school adventure gamers out there, you’ll be glad to know that our mini bundle containing both our adaptations of Steve Jackson & Ian Livingstone’s Fighting Fantasy games has had its price hacked & slashed from £4.99 (€ 5.99) down to a heroic £1.99 (€ 2.49)!  (This can’t be right, can it? – Ed.)

Of course it’s not only our fantastic value bundles that have had their prices reduced.  You can also battle aliens with your friends in the mighty arcade shooter Duael Invaders, explore strange new worlds in Orbit and destroy even more aliens in Stellar Attack before taking on our rhythm action challenge in the ferociously addictive Vibes.  All of these excellent PS minis have been reduced in dramatic fashion from £2.49 (€ 2.99) down to a mere 99p (€ 1.19)!  (Are you sure about this? – Ed.)

These amazing deals are available on the Vita store right now, but even if you don’t have the latest Sony handheld there’s no need to worry.  These bargains are also available from the standard PlayStation Store until the 4th July and can be played on the PSP and PS3.

That’s all for today.  So what are you waiting for?  Head over to the PSN Store right now to pick up these fantastic bargains before the sale ends.  And of course you can always join us on our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+  pages.

Returning to Laughing Jackal

Hi everyone. Hope you’ve had a good week and that Al has been taking care of you all properly. :)  Since I arrived back at the Laughing Jackal offices on Wednesday I’ve been really busy catching up with everything I’ve missed while I was in Crete.  It’s funny how everything seems to happen when you go away.

I’ve had hundreds of emails to check through but I have found time to take a look at all the work that’s been going into Mystery Game X, which seems to have progressed really well in the time I’ve been off.  Rich has even given us some new toys we can include in the levels. :)

On the subject of Mystery Game X, while I was away we had some important people from outside Laughing Jackal come in to take a look at it. The meeting went really well and we’re currently preparing a larger portion of the game for them to take a look at.

On getting back into work I was also told that we’ve had to delay the release of the iPhone version of Hungry Giraffe. While (sadly) I’m not allowed to tell you why it’s been delayed, it’s actually for quite an exciting reason and not due to a problem with the game.

Talking of Hungry Giraffe I’ve heard that the North American version of the Mini is now playable on the Vita. Great news for North American Vita owners who have a hunger for great bite-sized games. :)

That’s all for today. I’ll be back next week with all the news from Laughing Jackal.  But until then, why not on join us on our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+  pages?

Hungry Giraffe enters submission

Hi everyone.  Sorry about last week’s lack of blog, we’ve been so busy recently that I couldn’t quite find the time to write a post for you.  Of course it’s not all bad news, as this extra time did mean we managed to submit Hungry Giraffe to Apple, so you can expect a release date shortly if all goes to plan.  I’d like to once again thank our intrepid band of external testers who have been really helpful in preparing Hungry Giraffe for its first steps onto the iPhone. You guys can look forward to seeing your names in the game credits. :)

Finally, following on from our mention of OMG-Z in the previous blogpost I’m pleased to be able to tell you that our classic multiplayer Mini Duael Invaders is now also available on the North American Vita Store.

This unique take on the shoot-em-up is available for just $3.99 on the North American PSN store.  For those of you who are interested in seeing what other Laughing Jackal Minis you can pick up on your Vita the guys over on the PSPMinis.com forum have thoughtfully provided a guide listing every Mini currently available on the North American Vita.

That’s all for today, I’ll be away next week but I’m sure someone else will be joining you to provide you with all the latest from Laughing Jackal and I’ll see you in a couple of weeks time. :)

So until then, why not join us on our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+  pages?
