Another Big Week for Laughing Jackal

It’s always a nervous time when your game is released, as you find yourself worrying what everyone will think about your games.  With Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death receiving it’s North American release this week meaning it is now available worldwide, along with last week’s European release of Cubixx HD, Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death and the worldwide general release of OMG-Z, it’s been even more nervous than usual here at Laughing Jackal.

Fortunately, we’ve been able to breathe a sigh of relief as not only have the critics loved all three games, but our fans have as well. You can see what the reviewers think at the three links above, but why not visit our Facebook and Twitter to see what everyone else has been saying and to tell us what you think?

One of the great things about online leaderboards like the ones in Cubixx HD is that they let us see how everyone has been getting on with the game.  Special mentions go out to Everton989, who was the first person to manage a score of 1 (which is actually a lot harder than it sounds :)) and Janeaway, who has managed to get an amazing line of 13857 on Line Attack 2.

Before I leave you, I thought I’d remind you about our fantastic Fighting Fantasy Competition which closes tomorrow.  Enter here for a chance to win some amazing prizes, including the book we worked from when creating the PlayStation Minis version of Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death, which not only still includes the dev notes but has been signed by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone themselves.

See you next week. :)

Win Fabulous Fighting Fantasy Prizes

Hi everyone.

As promised in my previous blogpost, to celebrate the launch of Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death we’ve got some fantastic prizes available for all you Fighting Fantasy fans out there.

The star prize is the Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death book which we used when creating the Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death PlayStation Mini still containing the dev notes and which has been signed by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone.  This unique prize gives you a fascinating look into the creation of the Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death PlayStation Mini. The winner will also receive an exclusive set of three A4 Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death posters signed by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone.

Not only that, but four lucky runners up will each receive the exclusive set of three signed posters too.

To be in with a chance of winning this great prize, all you have to do is view the video below and answer one simple question:

What effect does the ‘Minion of Death’ have on those struck by its claws?

Email your answer to *comp closed* by 3:00 pm BST on Friday 26thAugust.

Good luck everyone.

Laughing Jackal release three games!

Hi Everyone.

Today is a massive day for us as we are releasing 3 games on PlayStation Network!   The first is, of course, the amazing Cubixx HD, which I blogged about yesterday.  You can also get a great overview of the game over on the Official PlayStation Blog.

We’re also releasing the first of the legendary 16m-selling Fighting Fantasy series of gamebooks to make it to PlayStation, as Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death comes to PlayStation Minis for our European fans for £3.49.

We’ve recently run a fascinating interview with Steve Jackson, the co-creator of the Fighting Fantasy series. Part one of this interview can be seen here and part two can be found here.  Later this week we’re going to be releasing details of how you can win some amazing prizes including the very book we used when making the Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death PlayStation Mini, which has been signed by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone.

Last but by no means least, the incredible Zombie Exploding Chain Reaction action of OMG-Z is now on general worldwide release.  OMG-Z has been gathering some amazing reviews some of which can be seen here and on the reviews tab here.

So, why not follow PocketGamer’s advice and: ...go and grab this puzzler with brains now”,so you can see what made PSP Minis say: It’s a perfect pick-up-and-play game and also a recommendable game in which to lose yourself for hours and hours.”

That’s all from me for now, but keep your eyes peeled as I’ll be back soon with more news about all three of these games as well as a little more for our American friends.
