'Cubixx HD' Episode 14 - Roll up, roll up, read all about it!

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

How are we all this fine Friday afternoon? Just a quick little announcement this week, but it is quite exciting for us all. Next week we are taking Cubixx HD out on the road. OH YES! We are taking Cubixx HD to some of the country’s biggest video games magazines. Exciting or what?!?! The magazines we are visiting include; Gamesmaster, Official PlayStation Magazine UK, PSM3, Games TM, Play and Retrogamer!! We are hoping for some nice comments and good coverage in these mags. Fingers crossed they like it as much as we do! I will ensure to let you know when the features run so you can go out and grab yourself a copy of the mags and check out Cubixx HD in all its glory.

This however does mean that I’ll be out of the office Thursday and Friday which means you’ll have to wait a whopping 2 weeks for my next blog post! But don’t be too sad as I promise I will be back. However I will be tweeting whilst on our travels so make sure you follow us to keep up to date on the latest gossip and exclusive info!

Steven.

'Cubixx HD' Episode 13 - Be Creative!!!

Yo yo,

What’s good y’all? Hope you guys are coping ok with the lack of PSN!? This outage is affecting us too so my thoughts are with you all. We are so close to completion now but are still unable to progress with our leaderboard testing! But on the flip side this has given us some extra time to polish the game, so I can assure you Cubixx HD is shaping up to be one hell of a package! Challenges are getting our full attention this week and my colleague Jake must’ve died over 1000 times trying to beat my scores! HA HA!

The free time has also given me a chance to get a bit creative, check out this screen shot, awesome or what!!

What’s my name?

What better way to spend a Friday morning than writing your name on the side of a cube?? I might do another more complex picture at some point so stay tuned; I could be the biggest thing to happen to Cubism since Pablo Picasso!

Well in the words of Porky Pig, “That’s all folks!”

Itsy bitsy teeny mini!

Hey guys,

Hope everyone is good and looking forward to the weekend! I’m off to the zoo this weekend, so tomorrow can’t come soon enough! Bring on the monkeys!

Not much Cubixx news this week as we are still working super hard to get it to you as soon as we possibly can. Unfortunately leaderboards have been put on hold whilst PSN is down so we can’t test that at present. But that has meant we have been able to give 7 player a good caning!

I thought I’d give a little recap of some of our older minis this week and let you know what reviewers and fans have said about them.

I’ll start with my personal favourite which is Vibes. I love this game to bits, a few of us in the office were playing it last week and we still find it a challenge! Here’s what the reviewers and fans thought…

“Dancing sumo :D!” – Youtube comment.

“Laughing Jackal seems to know exactly what buttons to press to get its audience nodding along appreciatively - 8/10 ” – Eurogamer.

“If you've got the music in your bones, pick this one up for sure... - 4/5 ” - PSN Stores.

Next up is Stellar Attack! This game will have you chasing hi-scores like no other! Use your skill and reflexes to destroy chains of coloured orbs and deadly gun turrets.

“ If you are looking for a fun and challenging retro themed arcade shooter, you can’t really go wrong with Stellar Attack - 9/10 ” – PSPminis.

“The production values are extremely high in quality when compared to the rest of the PSP Minis market - 7.5/10 ” - Gamer Limit.

“Great game!” – Youtube comment.

Then there was Ace Armstrong Vs. The Alien Scumbags! This was once described as the hardest mini ever, but with some refinements we made it much more accessible to people of all skill levels!  So hop in your space ship and go blast yourself some scumbags!

“Ace Armstrong Vs The Alien Scumbags is for REAL men (also for women who show an adequate amount of bravado) - 9/10 ” - Nonsense Gamer

“This game reminds me of Alien Hominid but a shoot em up instead of a side scroller.” – Youtube comment.

Last but certainly not least we have Cubixx! Our first and most successful mini! Action puzzle gaming at it’s very best! We are close to completing the PS3 exclusive HD version so keep you eyes peeled for this!

“Badass” – Youtube comment.

“Cubixx is massively addictive - 9/10 ” – thesixthaxis.

“I’ve just got Cubixx and love it!” – PSPminis comment.

So that’s it for this week! If you haven’t picked up these games yet then I strongly suggest you do, when PSN is back anyway! Roll on the zoooooooooo!

Cheers

Steven.
