Hi guys,
I’m back again, with more details on your favourite upcoming game, Cubixx HD and today I’m going to run through a few of the enemies to whet your appetite…
Our first enemy is the Cubixx from the first game, along with the all-new Mini Cubixx (this is the best name we have at the moment.) The standard Cubixx acts like it did in the original game, hunting you down and generally causing a nuisance; remember, a Cubixx cannot be killed, so you’ll have watch your step!
Cubixx and Mini Cubixx enemies
The Mini Cubixx, on the other hand, can be killed if you cut it off from its bigger brother. There can be up to 36 Cubixx and Mini Cubixx covering the cube, so make sure you concentrate! The screenshot above shows the standard Cubixx in orange and its new little brother in purple.
Next we have a new enemy, the Homer! This little bandit will cling to you and slow you down. Although the Homer cannot kill you directly it will make other enemies more dangerous. Homers will display an exclamation mark when they’re attached to you and a question mark when they’ve spotted you. The screenshot below gives an early indication of what the Homers will look like come release, but we’re still working on them.
Homer Seems-On (aha-ha!)
Last up in this episode of the blog, is the good old Line Chaser enemy. Line Chasers relentlessly patrol the edges of the cube’s faces, preventing the player from camping on any solid lines for too long. These enemies - which are usually blue - will turn red when they’re able to kill the player, which makes tracking down and killing Line Chasers a lot of fun; something we’ve actively built into the gameplay, but more on that in the future.

There’re plenty more details to come in the following weeks, so stay tuned. :)
To finish off for this week, our reveal last Friday got us some nice feedback from a few PSN-friendly sites out there. Check them out:
Cubixx HD on PSNStores.com - “...the game looks very promising indeed.”
Cubixx HD on PushSquare.com - “We really can’t wait to see how the pulsating style of the Mini presents itself on an HD television.”
Cubixx HD on TheSixthAxis.com - “This new, updated, hi resolution version looks gorgeous.”
It's always nice to get good comments from the critics, especially before the game's even finished! :)
See you next week,
Steven

Hey everyone,
Just a quick post today to let you know that we’ve finally got release dates agreed for Duæl Invaders for PSN minis. Yay! :) We’ve been working hard with Sony Europe (SCEE) and Sony America (SCEA) to really push the game as far as we can. Here’s how things are going to break down:
Duæl Invaders will be releasing on the PSN Store on 19th (SCEA) and 20th (SCEE) April 2011. Even more awesomely, it’ll be available for a limited-time at 60% off the launch price, which comes to just £0.99GBP / €1.49EUR / $1.49USD! Now that’s a bargain right there... ;)
The launch sale will last for two weeks, until the 3rd (SCEA) and 4th (SCEE) of May, after which time the game will move to its regular price of £2.49GBP / €3.99EUR / $3.99USD.
The finished product is an awesome retro shootemup, so much so that SCEE and SCEA have taken a real interest in the game with the effect that two weeks prior to launch it’ll be available exclusively to PS+ subscribers for FREE! You heard it here first.
So, it pays to take the plunge and grab a copy of Duæl Invaders right off the bat come launch day - heck, all you PS+ subscribers won’t even have to pay! :D
Ok, that’s about it. There’ll be a proper Duæl Invaders trailer available soon, plus stick around for more Cubixx HD (PS3) news later on today.
It's always nice to hear great feedback from the critics!
Have a great weekend. :)

Hi guys and gals,
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, love is in the air in the Laughing Jackal offices!
And I’m proud to announce the news you’ve all been waiting for, the long awaited, highly anticipated debut screenshots for Cubixx HD.
What’s this I hear you say, “no orange interior?”. That’s right colours aplenty this time round, a nice red rose colour is shown here. This also shows me killing myself (noob)!
NEW ENEMY ALERT!!! That’s right Cubixx HD features many new enemies. The first one can be seen above, the purple secondary Cubixx. This little rascal can be destroyed, but it can get hectic when he brings another 29 of his brothers to the party.
Another new enemy can be seen here, the homers! These black gas clouds cannot kill you directly but will hug on to you and slow you down, try to avoid these at all costs or the Cubixx will eat you for dinner! As you can see the player laser colour can now be customised, and it is being fired from a certain someone, but more on that next time…
This final screenshot shows of another new enemy. For now I’ll leave it up to you to guess what effect it has on the player! I don’t want to give too much away at present, but even if I say so myself, doesn’t it look gorgeous!
So spread the love and share these Cubixx screenshots with a loved one and if these super sexy screenshots don’t get you in the mood for Valentine’s Day next week, nothing will!
Love
Steven
