'Cubixx HD' Episode 4 - Introducing Cubot!
Howdy!
Ah how I love Fridays, not only is the weekend just around the corner but I get to share Cubixx HD news with the world!
This week I am pleased to introduce you to Cubot, the robot that everybody loves to love! If you haven’t worked it out already, Cubot is the robot behind the laser. When you start the game, Cubot will be there to run you through the basics. Think of him as a kind of Cubixx professor who will guide you through all aspects of the game, giving you tips on everything from enemies to game play modes, etc. Cubots come in very handy when playing multiplayer, as each player will have their own Cubot and matching coloured laser. I’m saving the multiplayer information for a later blog, so you’ll have to be patient and wait for further details!
Below are the initial concept designs our artist Marc drew for Cubot. We then all voted for our preferred choice and once the votes were in the Cubot shown on the far right below was elected President of laser firing; how democratic are we?
Here we can see some early 3D model concepts of what Cubot may have looked like if voting had gone a different way.
The screen shot below shows how some of the initial sketches may have looked like in the 3D game environment. This screenshot also gives you an idea of the different coloured lasers you’ll be able to choose when playing Cubixx HD. The laser colour you pick then matches your Cubot’s hat colour.
Lastly, here are two images of our final Cubot. I hope you like him as much as we do!
That’s all for this week, but I promise there will be some more exciting news same time next Friday, so stay tuned!
Steven.

Will the game play in 1080p and include HD audio assets? Who's doing the music?
Hi Matt, I can confirm the game will play in 1080p. We are currently working on the audio settings so I cannot answer that question at the moment, but I certainly hope so. We have a few songs selected but I don't want to give anything away at present. But I can say that there are some "pumping choons!". Thanks, Steven.
