In Orbit
Hi everyone. Orbit has been out for a little over a week now and the reaction so far has been great. It’s currently one of our highest rated games, with a user rating on the PSN Store of 4.33/5 in Europe and 4.44/5 in North America from hundreds of ratings. While it’s still early days and we’ve only had a few reviews come in, the critical opinion has so far been very positive with PlayStation Crowd’s CrowdCast describing it as “the gaming equivalent of premium crack cocaine”. It’s also been reviewed by PushSquare, who awarded Orbit 3-out-of-4, commenting that “the game’s impossible to put down”.
For those of us who are not PlayStation Plus users and are waiting anxiously, fear not! Soon your waiting will be at an end, as Orbit has reached escape velocity and will be boldly going to the regular PlayStation Store next week.
Of course, while all that has been going on, work has not stopped on Hungry Giraffe. As you can see from last week’s video footage, the game is progressing very nicely. Today we finalised our music and sound effects, which are being dropped into the game during the rest of the week.
We’ve also been getting into the Christmas Spirit here at Laughing Jackal. Every day this week we’ve been giving away PSN codes for our games on our Twitter account. If you’re not already following us you totally should be, as we’re going to be giving away more codes daily until the end of next week. Not only that, but we’ve been running a competition on our Facebook, Twitter and Google + accounts for a really quite special prize, so I thought I’d give all our fans on the blog a chance to join in:
All you have to do is add a comment beneath this blogpost telling us your favourite Fighting Fantasy gamebook and - listen up because this bit is important - provide an email address for us to contact you on. Don’t worry we’re not going to start spamming you we just want to be able to confirm that we’re sending the poster to the right person! The competition remains open until 4pm
Good luck everybody!
Edit- I just noticed I didn't actually mention the special prize. You can win a Fighting Fantasy poster signed by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone. The competition is open worldwide.
